What is the Golden Thread?
The Golden Thread is a requirement under the Building Safety Act 2022. It's a digital record of all building safety information—plans, assessments, materials, changes—kept up to date throughout the building's life.
Who needs this?
All UK residential buildings over 18 metres or 7 storeys must comply with the Act. Lower-rise blocks have lighter obligations but still need fire safety compliance.
Does it replace safety consultants?
No. ProperSafe organises and tracks compliance. You still need qualified professionals to conduct fire risk assessments, structural surveys, etc. We integrate their reports into the system.
When will it be available?
